About Me
I’m a freelance musician, composer, and educator based in Slovenia, working across jazz, contemporary, and interdisciplinary projects. My main instrument is the tuba - often used in a bass-like role - but my work extends into composition, production, and sound design for theatre, radio, TV, and film. I formally studied jazz at the Prince Claus Conservatoire, where I became the first jazz tuba graduate of the institution. But like many musicians, I found that the most important learning began after school - through real-world experience, collaboration, and experimentation. Over the years, I’ve composed original music for national TV and radio productions, theatre, and film, and performed with a wide range of artists and ensembles. My work includes projects for Radio Television of Slovenia, collaborations with artists like Rudi Bučar and Janez Dovč, as well as solo releases that explore the intersection of acoustic instruments and electronics. What ties all of this together is a broad, practical understanding of music-making: from performance and improvisation to amplification, recording, mixing, and navigating a freelance career. I’m as comfortable on stage as I am in the studio or behind a DAW. When I teach, I don’t treat jazz as a strict genre, but as a starting point - a way of thinking about music that values curiosity, listening, and personal expression. My goal is not just to improve your playing, but to help you build a deeper connection to what you do and why you do it. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced musician, I offer structured guidance tailored to your goals - covering technique, sound, creativity, and the real-world skills needed to grow as a modern musician.
